On March 13, Dr. Liisa Timonen, Director of International Affairs, Sanna Kasurinen, Dean of the Faculty of Education, and Chinese representatives from Karelia University of Applied Sciences in Finland visited our university.?President Liu Zhiqiang met with the guests, and Vice President Fu Baixue chaired the meeting of the management committee of the cooperative project. ? On the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the cooperation between the two sides, President Liu Zhiqiang, on behalf of the school, expressed a warm welcome to the delegation’s visit and had a pleasant time reviewing and summarizing the history of the cooperation between the two schools and the results of the cooperation with the guests.?He especially thanked President Petri Raivo for his enthusiastic speech at the 70th anniversary celebration of the college, and also put forward constructive suggestions for both sides to take the opportunity of constructing a new highland?for opening up to the north of Heilongjiang to develop and exchange ice &?snow tourism, ice &?snow culture, and carry out joint exhibitions of graduation design in the field of design disciplines, so as to further broaden the international horizons and mindsets of the students.
At the subsequent meeting of the project management committee, the two sides briefed on the operation of the project in 2023 and had serious discussions on the details of teaching in the spring semester of 2024, resumption of the selection of exchange students, strengthening the collaboration in scientific research and teaching materials, as well as consulting on the possibility of conducting joint education in other majors of the mechanical category, etc., and achieved a positive consensus.
At the conclusion of the meeting, Vice President Fu Baixue said that the talks and discussions were fruitful and valuable, reflecting the consistency of the goals of both sides.?He hoped that in the following work, the two sides could jointly overcome difficulties, forge ahead and innovate based on the principle of mutual understanding and mutual trust, to make the cooperation projects stronger and bigger, and keep the friendship forever. ? After the meeting, the visiting representatives of Karelia University of Applied Sciences in Finland would?go into the second-level colleges and give a 1.5-day course explanation to the students of our cooperative education program, which will lay a solid foundation for the students to go to Karelia University of Applied Sciences in Finland to pursue a 3+1 degree and a master’s degree. ?
